The Fake Christian

"If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion [is] vain." (James 1:26)
It is not enough to talk the talk, but the walk is needed as well. It can be easy to serve God when a person is around other Christians, but what that person does in their daily lives, when no one else is watching, is what truly matters.
I think that we all can name someone that we see on Sunday morning, and they seem like the most Godly person, but the next day, they are drinking or cursing like a sailor. Many put up a front to have a good image of themselves in front of their church. They want to live two separate lives; their Christian life being separate from their sinful life. They want to be praised for their worship of God, and then they want to enjoy their sin throughout the week. What they don't understand is that the people in their church might not see the different life the person is living outside of church, but God does.
Being a Christian is so much more than going to church on Sunday. It's a full time job, and a person must continuously work on themselves. Like a job, they have duties that they must conduct; read Bible, pray, witness, and be a Godly example. Without these duties, what makes a person different from the world? Absolutely nothing.
A person who claims to be a Christian on Sunday, but then lives a life of sin once they leave, is not a true Christian. They are putting on a fake for the sake of their image. Having a Godly image inside of church will not get a person saved. What will get them saved is the person giving up their sin for God, and asking for forgiveness.

We have to be aware of these types of people. Fake Christians have the ability to drag others down with them. The devil uses sinful people that have a Godly image in church to tempt the true Christians into sin. A true Christian will live their life for God, even when there isn't anyone from their church around. I want to be that type of Christian, and God wants us to be that type of Christian too. Be a Christian every day of the week; Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Be a light for God every chance you get, and God will send His blessings.
