Using Our God-Given Talent For The Lord

Romans 12:6 - "Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, [let us prophesy] according to the proportion of faith;"

Matthew 25:15 - "And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey."

When God created each of us, he made us unique from every other person on Earth. No one person that has ever existed has had the exact makeup and qualities as another person. Everyone has different talents, hobbies, likes, and personalities. One person may be a great singer, another a great speaker, or maybe a great teacher. We all have something that we can use for the praise of God.

Whatever characteristics that we may possess, God has a plan on how He wants to use those characteristics. He doesn't give us talents so that we will use them for bad. God gives us talents, so that we might use them to spread the word of God and the wonderful news about His merciful salvation. Life is about finding God's salvation and leading others to find it as well. We have no reason to use our talents for our own praise because we don't control it, God does. He deserves the praise for anything Godly that we do.

Any talent that we have comes from God, and we should treat it that way. We should treat it with the upmost respect that God intended. We should clothe our talents in modesty. For example, if you have a great voice, use it for God with Godly songs, or if you are a great speaker, use your voice to speak of the Lord. No matter what your talent is, you can use it for God. Go into the world, let your talents shine, and win people to the world.
