Psalms 37:4 - "Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart."
Matthew 7:7-"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you."
God states in the verse from Psalms that if we follow His path and His laws, He will give us happiness. God knows exactly what it is that will make us happy. He will give us the things that we long for in our lives. God didn't make the Bible so that we could have something to read. God's intent was not entertainment, it was mercy. He made the Bible so that we would have the understanding of salvation, then a set of laws to abide by after receiving Jesus into our hearts, so that we could try and come as close to the image of God as possible. By living by the laws set aside by God, we are showing Him that we are dedicated to Him, and God will reward us for living that way, whether it is on Earth or in Heaven. I promise that if you abide by His laws, He will give you a reward that doesn't even compare to billions of dollars on Earth. He will provide more happiness than you could have ever imagined if you will only worship God the way that He deserves.
In the verse from the book of Matthew, God is urging us to pray and ask God for what we want. Of course, He doesn't mean for selfish reasons. He wants us to pray about our burdens, our dreams, our weaknesses, for strength in our lives, anything. If our heart is true and our desires are good, God will answer our prayers. He wants us to be happy, and He is the only one that can provide this. If you're having a problem, ask God what to do, if you don't know which way to turn, God will show you His will, if you don't have the money to buy the car you need, ask God, He will provide. There are many times that I went into class not knowing how well I would do on the test, and I prayed to God to help me remember all the information, and He never let me down. So many times that I had no idea what to do, and God showed me a sign. Times that my family didn't know how we were going to pay bills, and God was never far. God always has an answer to a prayer. He can answer any prayer and He sincerely wants to help us, but it is up to us to ask Him. God wants to hear from us, He wants to know that we trust in Him to help us. Put your faith in God, and He will take care of any problem you have.
